Prevention 

• Successful prevention methods have been taking in regards to Brucellosis and in places such as Ireland, it is Brucellosis free.
• The U.S. has taken steps to eradicate Brucellosis. These measures include annual checks for brucellosis and the killing of all cows considered infected.
• Similar actions have been taken on dogs, such as testing before breeding.
• Despite these actions it is important for humans to take their own individual preventive actions.
• These actions include:
• Ensuring all dairy products consumed are pasteurized.
• Those who work with animals, or who are in direct contact with animals for Brucellosis stay hygienic and avoid direct contact with fetuses. 
• And as always, meats should be cooked at proper temperatures.
